Programme Highlight

Jointing is the commonly used process for joining steel materials by welding and by bolting. As proper jointing works attribute to the structural safety of building works, essential procedures, specifications and certificates of jointing in buildings are required to be submitted for approval under the Buildings Ordinance. The Code of Practice for The Structural Use of Steel 2011 stipulates the requirements of essentials of welding in the approval letter as conditions. This seminar is tailor-made for building professionals, particularly those Technically Competent Persons (TCP) of the Supervision Plan System under the Buildings Ordinance, to refresh them with basic knowledge on the pre-requisites of jointing aspects and to enlighten them with updated information as required under the Buildings Ordinance. The jointing seminar will be presented under various kinds of control, i.e. legal control; administrative control; technical control and management control whereby technical control could not be covered.
