It’s my greatest honor to be elected as the Chairman of the Structural Division for the Session 2024/2025. I feel privileged to be able to work with an excellent team of office bearers and committee members in this coming year. I like to sincerely thank our Immediate Past Chairman Ir Kevin Tang for his exceptional leadership and guidance to take us through the changes and challenges arose in the past session.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to all our Past Chairmen for their eminent leadership and our Committee Members for their contribution in the preceding years. The Structural Division would not have today’s high professional status without their efforts and devotion.

In the coming session, I will continue the division’s long-term core objective in promoting advancement in structural engineering and strive to enrich the experience and technical knowledge of fellow members by organizing a wide range of events, including Structural Excellent Award, Annual Seminar, Local and Oversea Technical Visits, and Various Technical Seminars. This year, we will also focus our events on young members.

We will uphold Structural Engineer’s image and professionalism through different channels of public engagement and social media platforms. We will collaborate and work closely together with HKIE and other divisions to enhance our engineering publicity.

We also want to attract more young talents to become structural engineers through various activities like career briefing sessions, and student innovation competition events and to “plant the seeds of Structural Engineering” to our primary and secondary students.
